This week, Aaron welcomes Grammy-nominated storyteller Milbre Burch, who is performing her one-woman show “Myth America” across our community in November, sponsored by the Orange County Arts Commission. “Myth America” is an hour-long program for mature audiences, combining Burch’s personal history with moving monologues – a child, an immigrant, and a homeless person, all people whose voices are invisible. (The piece also includes a rendition of Emma Lazarus’ famous song “The New Colossus,” which hits the Statue of Liberty.)

The show is an exploration of America’s core values, from democracy to inclusion — so, fittingly, he’ll be doing the show before and after the election. His next performance will be Friday, November 1, at 7:00 pm at Hargraves Community Center; then he will be at the Carrboro Century Center at 2:00 pm Saturday November 10th, and he will be at the main library in Hillsborough at 2:00 pm Sunday November 10th.
